When this interview with Unearth was done, Barack Obama had just been elected as the new president of the United States of America. We thought that would be a good moment to ask bassplayer John "Slo" Maggard about his political views. And about the new album 'The March' of course. Check it out!

After the release of the previous album War’ a lot has happened with Born From Pain. Singer Ché quit the band, drummer Roel had a medical condition that stopped him from playing and replacement vocalist Kevin also quit because of medical problems. But eventually it all worked out well, with the new album Survival’ as the culmination. With a new bass player (Andries from The Setup) and a new drummer (Roy from 37 Stabwoundz), the band is tighter than ever. And on top of that, they have a message to spread about everything that’s wrong in this world. Band leader and new vocalist Rob Franssen tells AsIce.net the whole story.

Both Razorblade and Payback released a new album last month, and we at AsIce.net thought it would be a good idea to ask the boys a couple of questions. And, because we are lazy, even had them ask each other questions. Here we go!

By now, you are probably all familiar with our "New Breed"-series, where we give up and coming bands a chance to introduce themselves to our readers. In this edition, three bands from Zuid-Holland (Drain-Life, Harbour 81 & All For Nothing) introduce themselves to the AsIce-audience. Check it out!

In October 2007, San Antonio’s Bitter End released their first LP “Climate Of Fear” through Malfunction Records (who merged with Deathwish around that time). Because of all the praise this record got, there were a lot of people looking forward to their first European tour. I was one of those people, already seeing myself going off to the intro. But off course, the big question was if they'd be able to live up to the expectations... After a year of waiting, the time finally came: Bitter End were coming over, together with 50 Lions and Meltdown. Half way down their tour me and Thijs sat down with their singer Daniel Rosen, and talked about the tour, their first full-length, their upcoming 7” and his love for Kate Nash! Check it out!

Touring Europe for the second time within one year, spreading the walking disease further and further, we thought the time was right to subject the guys in Trash Talk to a cross-examination. Our paths crossed at this year’s edition of the ZXZW festival in Tilburg, so after their manic live performance in The Little Devil, singer Lee and drummer Rashod were eager to answer some questions. Sipping on his bottle of beer, Dan Yemin of Paint It Black joined us as well. Read it here.

Ever tried telling the story of your life with just ten songs? That's what 'Life's a Mixtape' is about. In this series, people show something of themselves by compiling an autobiographical mixtape. This time, Duncan Epping -who you should know from MOW-Zine and AsIce- is submitting the musical story of his life. Check it out!
